Appointments are generally 50 minutes long.
Sessions are $155 and can be paid via debit, credit, or e-transfer. There are no taxes on social work services. Currently I can direct bill to Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), the NBCCD student health plan, and the STU student health plan. Most clients pay out-of-pocket and are then reimbursed by their insurance.
I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) and Registered Social Worker (RSW). Most insurance companies cover services provided therapists with these qualifications. However, it is best to double-check with your insurance provider directly. As well, I am physically located in Alberta -- again, most insurance providers have no problem with this, but it's best to check with your provider directly.
No, as a social worker I do not diagnose or prescribe medication.
